Who we are

The Strata team

Strata, as a company, was founded only a few years ago, yet our team members each have decades of individual experience and achievements in system design, AVL production, manufacturing, and project management.

The Strata team came together out of a shared need to escape the limitations of the corporate structure. Creating this boutique firm has allowed our team to serve our clients in a more personal and authentic way that just wasn’t possible at a larger company.

One of our most significant accomplishments is acquiring the majority of our business through word of mouth. The number of referrals we receive from previous clients validates the reason we came together to create Strata - to design exceptional technical facilities that shape the human experience.

We manage projects as if the money we are spending is our own. Because the projects we undertake involve a significant expenditure, we constantly search for the best ways to maximize the value you receive for every dollar you spend. If there are better and more efficient ways to deliver the technology you need, we’ll use them – even if we profit less.

The relationships we build with our clients are just as important as the projects we undertake.

The Team

Tom Larrison

Tom is very likely the first Strata contact you’ll have when you’re inquiring about a project.  Some might call him a salesman, but he’s much more. Tom’s hands-on technology background and years of sales experience gives him the rare combination of both selling and understanding the engineering behind our projects. He will work with you to create a budget that meets your needs and financial capabilities. Then he will be along for the rest of the project making sure the finances stay on track, all the way to final billing. Tom’s technical career started in our nation’s Air Force and then progressed to positions with several broadcast manufacturers and to sales in audio, video, and lighting systems integration.

David Roche

David serves in multiple capacities within Strata. He will help develop the project plan for design and implementation of your project. David also works to discover new technologies that we implement into our designs - primarily in video systems. His background in broadcast production is integral to many of our marketing efforts. You’ll probably see him in the background during and after your project, gathering photos, videos, and interviews to help us tell your story. His entire career has been involved in television broadcasting, production, engineering and administration from his start at a legendary Nashville TV station through his success as the Executive Producer for a global television ministry program, to his work designing and implementing AV systems for clients across the nation.

Scott Clark

Scott wears many hats at Strata and wears them all very well. He helps lead our discovery sessions with thought-provoking questions to uncover the best ways to approach each project. His abilities in technical space planning and 3D design are key to our goal of creating functional and flexible spaces that will serve you well into the future. 

But Scott’s passion, and where he truly excels, is audio design.  Years of experience as a professional musician, studio and live sound engineer, and audio systems designer combine to help him create the best possible sonic experience in your facility.   In addition to designing outstanding church audio systems, Scott has designed systems for sports stadiums, performance venues,  and corporate facilities, and has been a design consultant for several well-known speaker manufacturers.

Joe Paryzek

Joe’s deep production roots and engineering background give him a unique understanding of how to design video and audio systems that work well together.  That understanding also makes him the perfect guide to help lead you through our discovery process.  His functional requirements analysis and conceptual diagrams clearly and concisely communicate our understanding of the goals you’ve set during discovery.  No matter the budget, he is able to scale his vast video systems knowledge to meet your requirements.  Joe’s engineering career spans a wide range, from pioneering work with one of the original multi-site churches, to live sports production, to key positions in broadcast video equipment design and manufacturing, to system design and integration.

Priscilla Garza

We’ve had a hard time putting an accurate title on what Priscilla does, but she’s up to whatever task we throw at her! Priscilla primarily works with our project management and engineering teams to ensure that we’ve ordered the right components. Then she follows up those tasks with warehouse coordination, tracking, delivery, returns, and warranty claims. And, you’ll likely hear from her if you’ve asked for a quote on a few pieces of gear. Priscilla came to us from First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, where she was the Media Coordinator. There she handled production and volunteer schedules, budgeting, and process development activities.

Jon Whitwell

Churches, corporate environments, football stadiums, arenas, and governmental facilities are all on Jon’s resume. Having worked with clients, architects, and contractors from New York to San Francisco and just about everywhere between, he is one of the most accomplished project managers in our industry. Jon’s knack for building rapport with general contractors and the various trades in construction helps our projects run smoothly and ensures that AVL needs are considered at every step of the way. He is your key contact at Strata for all activities related to implementation and coordination with construction activities. Jon is a certified PMP (Project Management Professional) and also has CTS-I and Crestron certifications, as well as multiple hours of OSHA safety training.
