The house lighting in Rock Springs' worship center was designed with a combination of standard "can" downlights and theatrical fixtures located in the catwalks. High maintenance costs, uneven coverage, and high power consumption led the church to look for a better answer.
CHALLENGE
The house lighting in Rock Springs' worship center was designed with a combination of standard "can" downlights and theatrical fixtures located in the catwalks. High maintenance costs, uneven coverage, and high power consumption led the church to look for a better answer.
SOLUTION
Strata provided the answer to the church's lighting problems with Environmental Lights' REVI low-voltage lighting system. The system features a combination of 90+ CRI led downlights and rack mounted power supplies, tied together with low-voltage cabling. Installation time and cost was greatly reduced because of the high voltage was landed in the power supply racks. A bonus is that each light is fed from individually DMX-controlled power supply channels, meaning the tech staff has control of every single light in the 3,000 seat worship center.
RESULTS
The results are outstanding. Power requirements dropped from 50, 20-amp circuits to only 8 circuits! Lamp replacements, once a weekly ritual for the maintenance crew, have been eliminated. Lighting coverage is smooth across the space, with an average level of 50 footcandles.
The congregation and staff love the new look. The only people who didn't immediately like the change were the cleaning crew, who found places to clean that they hadn't been able to see in years!
Strata handled design and installation as well re-programming for the existing control systems.
